The system is very picky at what is bannable and what isnt. Saying the word “gay” in game make you get flagged, and the message dosent even go through. 5 minutes later you get banned. Anyone that dosent know that the word “gay” is bannable would be suprised to find a perma ban on their account. What I suggest is on your first offense of saying this word, simply make it a warning, and if the offense is repeated then you recieve your perma ban. This way instead of banning new people who dont know which words are bannable, everyone will have a good time will less fear of being perma banned for something they didnt even know.
Community Lead Steve here,
We’re addressing a really important point regarding our in-game moderation system, specifically about the word “gay” and how bans are issued. Some may call this a crucial concern actually, for some players are getting banned for using certain words without fully understanding our rules. We absolutely don’t want anyone to feel that way in our community. The rules are clear about how discrimination is handled; With a permanent ban.
Our top priority is to make our FiveM minigames server a fun, safe, and fair place for all players. This means we have zero tolerance for discrimination and harassment, and our moderation system is in place to enforce these rules strictly. We’re fully committed to protecting our LGBTQIA+ community members and all players from hateful speech. Our volunteer helpers are key to this, as they issue bans when our rules are broken, specifically when discriminatory language is detected. It’s crucial to remember that players are always responsible for their account’s actions, and this includes adhering to both our server-specific rules and the broader FiveM Terms of Service, which also prohibit discriminatory conduct.
While we don’t list every specific word we personally describe as discriminatory, players are responsible for the language they use when communicating in public chats. It’s essential to understand that even a single word, such as “gay,” can be interpreted as a slur and constitutes discrimination when typed and read by a helper, leading directly to a ban as per our rules. We recognize that the way our system currently flags such words and the immediate consequences can lead to confusion if a player was unaware of this. This is despite the fact that our rules are shown to accounts when they first join, making it the account owner’s responsibility to be aware of them. No one should be surprised by a permanent ban for something that directly violates our anti-discrimination policy.
Our Commitment to a Clearer System
We hear your feedback loud and clear, and we’re taking it very seriously. We’re not reducing our stance against discrimination; instead, we’re working to ensure our system is as clear and consistently applied as possible.
Here’s what we’re actively doing to improve:
We’re enhancing our tools to ensure our staff can review all relevant information when making a decision about a rule break, ensuring fairness. While account holders are always responsible for actions taken on their account, we aim for our system to be as transparent as possible in communicating rule enforcement.
We want everyone to have a great time here, free from harassment and with a clear understanding of our community standards. Your feedback is vital in helping us achieve that. We’re committed to making our moderation system both powerfully effective against discrimination and justly transparent for all players.
